Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about selecting, installing, and using AIRZOE pneumatic air-preparation components. Product-specific specifications always take priority over general guidance.
Choosing a product
What information should I confirm before ordering?
Confirm port size and thread standard, required airflow, inlet and desired outlet pressure, treatment function, drain type, flow direction, and available installation space.
What is the difference between a filter, regulator, and lubricator?
A filter helps remove moisture and particles; a regulator controls downstream pressure; a lubricator introduces an oil mist when compatible equipment requires it. Combined units place two or three functions in one assembly.
How do I identify NPT port size?
Use reliable fitting or component markings when available, or compare measurements with an NPT reference. Nominal pipe size does not equal the outside thread diameter, so avoid choosing from a ruler measurement alone.
Do I need a lubricator?
Not every pneumatic system requires one. Use air-line lubrication only when the downstream equipment manufacturer calls for compatible lubrication.
Which drain style should I choose?
Choose a style that matches your installation and maintenance routine. Drain terminology and operating behavior can vary by model, so review the individual product page and drain guide.
Installation and use
Which direction should air flow through the unit?
Follow the flow-direction marking on the product. Reversed installation can prevent proper operation.
Where should an air-preparation unit be installed?
Install it where it can be inspected, adjusted, and drained safely, while following the product information and the requirements of the connected system.
Can I use thread-sealing material?
Use a sealing method compatible with the fittings and system. Keep sealing material out of the air passage and avoid overtightening. Follow fitting and equipment guidance.
Why does airflow matter?
A unit that is too restrictive for the application can contribute to pressure drop during use. Compare the application's demand with available product specifications instead of selecting by port size alone.
