NPT Port Size Guide

Port size affects fitting compatibility and airflow, but the nominal NPT size is not the same as the outside diameter of the thread. Confirm both size and thread standard before ordering.

A safer identification process

  1. Look for markings

Check the existing component, fitting, manual, or equipment label for a nominal size and thread designation.

  2. Confirm the standard

Do not assume every tapered pipe thread is NPT. Equipment can use other thread standards.

  3. Measure carefully

If markings are unavailable, measure the male outside diameter or female opening and compare with a reliable thread reference.

  4. Check thread pitch

Use a thread-pitch gauge or verified fitting when needed; a diameter alone may not identify the connection.

Common AIRZOE listing sizes

AIRZOE products currently span several commonly used nominal NPT sizes, including 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch. Availability and specifications vary by product family and model.

ImportantNever force a fitting that does not thread smoothly by hand. A mismatched thread standard can damage the component and create an unsafe connection.

Port size is only one selection factor

A larger connection does not automatically make a product suitable for an application. Also compare airflow, operating pressure, treatment function, drain type, and installation dimensions.
